Consumers are increasingly buying Internet-connected appliances, referred to as the Internet of Things (IoT), for their homes. These devices can collect a lot of data and enable users to remotely manage their home environment. However, it can also pose huge risks to consumers’ privacy and security. This project profiles these threats using real devices available in the market, finding that consumers are often at considerable risk with the widespread adoption of IoT.
