This project examined the problem of obtaining the informed consent of consumers for the privacy policies of consumer contracts. It focuses on four communications industries in order to provide a broad picture of privacy and consumer fairness concerns. The project provides recommendations and an evidence base for ways to improve the communication of important privacy information to consumers, for the consideration of relevant regulators, industry participants and consumer advocacy groups.
