ACCAN argues that financial penalties should be mandatory if telcos seriously under perform on their Customer Service Guarantee (CSG) obligations.
Summary:
ACCAN says that failure by the ACMA to use appropriately strong financial penalties, will defeat the Government’s policy objectives for performance benchmarks to deliver additional benefits to consumers. Since the ACMA rarely uses its powers to impose financial penalties, we urge more specific directions be included on enforcement.
