Dr Justine Humphry is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Cultures in Media and Communications at the University of Sydney and Faculty leader of the Digital Technologies & Society research theme. She researches the impacts of digitisation and datafication in the lives of marginalised media consumers and uses participatory and co-design methods to collaborate with communities in research and policy change. Her book, Homelessness and Mobile Communication – Precariously Connected, published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2022 spans three studies carried out from 2014-2018 on digital access and use by people experiencing homelessness in Sydney, Melbourne, and New York City.
