At some time in the near future you’re likely to use a ‘1800’ or ‘13’ telephone service to make a complaint, access essential financial or legal advice or just order a pizza. ACCAN has launched a campaign to ensure you're able to access these numbers.
Whether you make that call from a landline or mobile phone will make a big difference to the cost of the call. We’ve found that while 1800 calls are free from landline phones, an eight minute call from a pre-paid mobile phone can cost around $7.50.
We think 1800 calls should be free from mobiles.
