New research demonstrates that the Australian Communications and Media Authority's plan to make mobile calls to freephone (1800) numbers free and local rate (13/1300) numbers cost 22 cents is in the best interest of consumers.

Summary: The cost of calling free and local rate numbers (FLRNs) from mobile phones is an issue brought to ACCAN by our members as an issue affecting a diverse range of consumers. ACCAN's Fair Calls For All campaign aimed to bring about awareness of the cost of calling 13/1800 numbers from a mobile phone. In this submission, ACCAN outlines how the regulator should implement changes that have been long supported by consumer groups.
