ACCAN has made a submission to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Mobile Terminating Access Service (MTAS) inquiry, about the ACCC’s Final Access Determination (FAD) on price and non-price terms.

The MTAS FAD consultation asked about the appropriate basis for pricing mobile terminating access services. Since the previous FAD there has been international evidence that the cost of providing MTAS in Australia and around the world has fallen considerably and ACCAN believes that these savings should be passed through to consumers.

In our submission, ACCAN argued for the ACCC to undertake formal cost modelling in order to determine the true cost of providing MTAS.
