ACCAN’s submission to the Federal Joint Parliamentary Committee on the NBN highlights a number of solutions to the problems facing consumers.

The Committee was formed in 2016 to report on the rollout of the nbn every year. It is fair to say that for a number of consumers the rollout of the nbn network has not been seamless. While industry has made improvements to the process, ACCAN believes that more could be done to ensure consumers understand what switching to the network will mean for them.

In addition, focus is needed on the foundation blocks that are vital to ensure consumers have access to essential communication services. All premises’ should have access to data and voice services. Consumers need the information to make appropriate purchasing decisions and essential voice and data services must be protected by robust safeguards.
