2016 Scheme Summary

The ACCAN Grants Scheme funds projects which either undertake research on telecommunications issues, represent consumers or create educational tools which empower consumers to make decisions in their own interests and to understand telecommunications products and services. All eligible projects address systemic issues for telecommunications consumers.

ACCAN works towards a communications market that is fair and inclusive for all – a market which is available, accessible and affordable.

Grants awarded in the 2016 Round and announced on 15 June 2016 can be seen in our listing of Current grant projects.

The ACCAN Grants Scheme is now closed for 2016. Applications were open for 5 weeks between 8 February 2016 and 15 March 2016. The 2016 Guidelines can be found on our Scheme overview page.

There is scope for a wide variety of projects. Previous ACCAN grants recipients have produced research that has provided a strong evidence base for our advocacy work. Funding has also been used to develop educational materials designed to empower consumers and communities.

The ACCAN Grants Scheme is competitive, carries an annual budget of approximately $250,000 and accepts applications during one round per year. Applicants can apply for funding of up to $60,000.
